Every year, exceptional graduating students are recognized with Tau Mu Lambda honors. All accredited 4-year university graduates are eligible to be recognized with Tau Mu Lambda honors.
To graduate with Tau Mu Lambda honors, you must be nominated by a professor at your university. Professors take into account academic performance, leadership, and campus/community involvement. Unlike Latin honors, Tau Mu Lambda honors does not have GPA cutoffs. Students of any and all majors and disciplines of study can be awarded Tau Mu Lambda honors.
If you are nominated by a professor, you will be notified by email by Tau Mu Lambda. You can then accept your nomination by completing the acceptance form. Recipients of this honor can choose to receive a medal, cord, and stole to wear during graduation or commencement ceremonies. Your regalia will be mailed directly to you before graduation.
Tau Mu Lambda graduates are recognized by their regalia at their schools commencement or graduation ceremony.
Please note, there is not an application process to receive Tau Mu Lambda honors. Nominations are only accepted from university professors.
Do I have to be a member of Tau Mu Lambda National Honors Society to receive Tau Mu Lambda Honors at graduation?
No, membership in the Tau Mu Lambda National Honors Society is not required to receive Tau Mu Lambda Honors at graduation. This distinction is awarded to students of all majors and academic interests.
